If an applicant is accepted onto a Tribe event the initial deposit sent on application automatically becomes non-refundable.
If an applicant is not accepted the deposit will be immediately refunded.
The final balance or a further 50% deposit payment must be paid 6 weeks before the course/retreat begins. If not, your place may be offered to someone on the waiting list and you will forfeit the deposit.

HEALTH & FITNESS
All instructions and guidance during classes are an invitation to challenge you mentally and physically and therefore Tribe yoga events are only suitable for healthy and mentally stable persons.
If you have an injury or medical condition you may still be able to attend if you are still able to practice and are ready to modifying as necessary.
All students are required to inform us prior to booking of any chronic or acute injuries or any mental or physiological conditions that may negate your ability to practice yoga safely.
If you omit to inform us of any physical or mental health conditions and subsequently have difficulties we may ask you to leave the retreat or training.
If you are asked to leave an event based on the above you will not be entitled to a refund.
Students are expected to take responsibility for themselves and approach each yoga practice with sensitivity and awareness to what and how they are feeling mentally and physically at all times. We encourage students to be sensitive to their limitations and always stop if they experience any pain or sickness.
We recommend that when travelling abroad you have comprehensive travel, cancellation & medical insurance for the duration of the yoga retreat/training.
You can review and compare travel insurance options at travelinsuranceview.net
We do not accept responsibility or liability for cancellations, delays, changes or losses caused by acts of God, war, and threat of war, closure of airports, civil strife, natural disasters, accidents or any other events beyond our control. The same applies to guests’ injuries, illnesses, medical or psychiatric conditions developed during or subsequent to the holiday, as well as loss of /or damage to personal property of guests.
Whilst it is unlikely that we shall have to make changes to bookings, scheduled teachers, the venue or other matters, we reserve the right to do so and will inform you accordingly.
If you have paid for accommodation and the venue is full we will assign you to alternative accommodation close to the venue.
At our discretion we reserve the right to give concessions and discounts. This does not automatically entitle other participants to the same concessions or discounts. Only one discount is applicable per person. No combining of discounts allowed. Discounts are to be utilised with payment. We do not ‘refund’ a discount
ALCOHOL AND DRUGS
Tribe yoga events are 100% alcohol, cigarette and drug free zones.
Alcohol and drugs are disturbing influences that are have no place during a retreat or training. We encourage and invite you to not smoke, drink or take drugs so you can get the most out of yourself and the yoga retreat/training.
We recognise that for some of you some habits will be difficult to stop completely and therefore request that if you do choose to indulge in any toxins that you do so beyond the parameters of the venue.
If any student is continually disruptive or fails to comply with the above (and below) terms and conditions we reserve the right to withdraw that person out of the event and ask them to leave the venue.
To aid in the purification effect of yoga practice on many tribe events a day of purification will appear on each weekly schedule. Expect variations in the meals according to the teachings of the week. It could be a day of just fruit, a day of just brown rice or simple a day of fasting.
Additional terms and conditions regarding Yoga Teacher Trainings
In respect for the group and the teachings we request that trainees arrive in ample time before the beginning of every class. Any late arrivals may find that they are not admitted into the class.
MINIMUM NUMBER OF STUDENTS REQUIRED PER TRAINING
For every event we require a minimum number of trainees to attend. Its important for the group dynamic and the logistics of practicing teaching that there is a minimum of 6-8 students depending on the location. If 6 weeks before a training starts there is less than the required number of applicants the training MAY be subject to cancellation. We invite applicants to check in with us anytime to ask how many students have booked onto the training of their choice. It is recommended to book flights after the training has been confirmed.
It is not unusual to have late bookings so even is there are few bookings on a training 2 or 3 months before the start date it is more than likely that the training will take place. Should there be less than the required number of students there may also be the possibility to train will one senior teacher in a smaller group.
The Tribe training is recognised as a 200 or 300-hour course. 95% attendance is required in order to receive a certificate. Since the trainings are scheduled as intensives there is very little room for non-attendance. In the case of continuous non-attendance additional hours of study on a future training will be required and a certificate of either 100, 150 or 175 hours will be issued to reflect the hours completed. Additional hours of study are subject to a teaching fee. If a student has a slight illness we encourage them to attend the class and observe, as it is our experience that by being present and listening many of the teachings can be still be digested. If illness is severe we request to be informed so that if necessary we can call a doctor on your behalf.
Certificates are presented to trainees on the basis of performance and attendance throughout the training. All students are required to achieve 75% pass rates in exams and assessments and express a basic level of sensitivity & awareness and a genuine yogic attitude and approach to practice and teaching. If a student fails in any part of the training assessments yet is deemed to have the capacity to pass re-takes will be offered.
It is Tribes experience that all students who apply themselves to the best of their ability pass. However in the unlikely event that a student has not grasped the fundamentals of teaching, cannot teach in a safe and effective way or is unable to express the qualities of a sincere yoga practitioner/teacher Tribe reserves the right to maintain its teaching standards. In cases where the standard has not been met the trainee will be given a temporary certificate which states ‘more training recommended before teaching to the public’.
In the rare case that a trainee does, on final assessment, need extra time developing their skills and yogic approach to satisfy the basic standard of teaching additional training can be completed via self-study and through practice teaching to friends. When the trainee feels ready for re-assessment they can send a video of themselves teaching and complete the post training assignments. If the basic standard of teaching has then been achieved a standard certificate will then be issued.
On all trainings there is silence from the beginning of the day until and including breakfast. Silence is a yogic practice and we find that especially on trainings the practice of silence allows students to assimilate and digest the morning practice.
Homework is given for you to clarify your understanding of any new information or teachings that you receive during class. We request that all students keep up to date with their homework and inform us if they have difficulties or issues with the homework they are given.
RELATING TO OTHERS
If you have any personal problem, difficulty or issue with anybody on the training (teacher or student) please talk to your Support Group Leader or the Student Coordinator as soon as a problem arises. Most instances of difficulties between individuals in a group are generally a case of misunderstanding or miscommunication and can easily be dealt with.
The training is not suitable for pregnant women or for anyone on medication for serious physical or mental conditions unless covered by a doctor’s note. On arrival to the training one of the things we request is that all students sign a disclaimer stating that they are fit and healthy both mentally and physically and they are prepared for intensive practices that may lead to emotional and physical releases. Ultimately we ask that each person take responsibility for himself or herself. This means resting when needing to or ‘backing off’ when one feels about to move beyond any personal limitation (physical or mental). If a trainee experiences any kind of crisis we are there to help and be supportive, however it must be recognised that we are not doctors or trained counsellors. We generally have connections with local professionals, doctors, therapists and spiritual counsellors so if you need to see a professional it can be arranged.
