Christian was born in the town of Brandenburg in Eastern Germany in February 1977, in the year of the fire dragon. His yoga journey began 15 years ago whilst traveling Australia. A friend showed him the first sun salutations and ever since he has been hooked. Christian has practiced Ashtanga Yoga as part of self practice for many years. He has completed the Primary and Intermediate Series and practices the Advanced A Series exploring into Advanced B. Emily was born in Ottawa, Canada Before her intro to yoga Emily had already completed a Pilates teacher training through the YMCA and an Anatomy course at Algonquin College in Ottawa 2002. These courses gave her a great wealth of knowledge on body mechanics, beautifully complimenting her yoga training at Kaivalyadhamma in India 2008 which focused heavily on traditional yogic philosophy and history. Born in 1979, in Tuscany, Italy, movement and the body as an instrument to create harmony have always been an integral part of Gaia's life. She studied classical, modern and contemporary dance from 1987 to 2003. In 2006 she graduated at the University of Florence with a degree in Communications, Majoring in Multimedia and Linguistics. Her relationship with yoga began in 2008 while trying to find solution to stress and anxiety. James was born in London and first discovered yoga in 2003, whilst at Drama School. However, he truly caught the bug, a few years later whilst performing in a Shakespeare production which toured India. Sunrise practices overlooking the rooftops of Udaipur with an old yogi called Prakash, sealed the deal. Following a martial-arts incurred neck injury, he was told that surgery was the only option. Liza’a first taste of yoga was through the physical practice of asana, finding it to be a consistent and reliable refuge from an often scattered and overwhelmed mind. Before long she realized that she was accessing the benefits of teaching that ran much deeper than asana alone. Born 1979 in Austria. At a young age she very soon saw clear that alternative paths to a holistic and sustainable wellbeing and health were the ones she had to travel. Studies in classic massage techniques followed, chinese medicine and cranio sacral technique. Born in Russia in 1986, Olga began her relationship with yoga in 2011 while trying to find relief from a stressful corporate career. Calmness, inner peace and healing aspects of yoga led her to a dramatic re-evaluation of her lifestyle, work and way of service. Rory Trollen was born in Scotland in 1979. In 1998 he went travelling overseas and whilst living in Byron Bay, Australia he first started practicing Yoga. In 2000 his adventurous spirit led him to move to Queenstown, New Zealand where he embarked on a 7 year career in the “Adventure capital of the world” working in outdoor sports and recreation. Sequoia was born in Canada April 20th 1970. Nowadays she lives in India six months of the year teaching and studying and is a spiritual gypsy the rest of the year. Shelley was born in England, November 1982. After completing 7 months of chemotherapy in 2010 she explored yoga as a form of rehabilitation. The practise provided her the tools to transform her life, helping her heal, physically, mentally and spiritually. Steve grew up in New Zealand and from an early age was curious about the esoteric, unseen elements of life. From 18-22 years he became a youth leader in the Catholic Church and lived in a community exploring group dynamics and communication. Zuzana was born in Slovakia in 1985. Being an active kid who loved to dance, she went on to study ballet and modern dance professionally. After finishing her studies in 2004 which gave her deeper understanding of movement and posture, she still felt that something was missing, and left the competitiveness of the profession behind to begin the next stage of her journey.
